Breaking Generations is an energetic dance performance featuring three generations of dancers, but just one shared language: breaking. This powerful, rhythmic dance style originated in 1970s New York. Expect fast movements, spins, and strong poses in this new creation by Korzo resident maker Constantin Trommlitz.
On stage you’ll meet Luis Müller, aka Knuckels (11), Constantin Trommlitz (30), and Mariusz Nowak, aka B-Boy Trace (48). Young Knuckels is already making waves on major stages, after winning the Red Bull Breaking competition in 2024. Meanwhile, Mariusz is a pioneer and a major figure in the early days of breaking in the 1990s. What can they learn from each other when they share the floor? And what happens when the same breaking moves are performed by three completely different bodies?
Breaking Generations is a personal love letter to breaking. Through their different bodies, ages, and perspectives, they tell a story about ambition, change, aging, and what dance does to a person over time.
Constantin Trommlitz (1996) is a German dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker. His background in breakdance still strongly shapes his work as both a choreographer and filmmaker. In the Netherlands, he has performed with companies such as Danstheater AYA and ISH Collective. Constantin has been a resident maker at Korzo since 2022.
