Would you like to explore more and different perspectives, but you don't know how?
Come to this Masterclass series and be inspired by the Kalpanarts teachers.
During 5 masterclasses of 3 hours you train with 5 different top teachers, each with their unique perspective and specialism on the Bharatanatyam. They share their insights about dance technique, expression, dance items and thus support the (further) development of your relationship with the dance style.
At the end of the series of workshops you will have created your own choreography.
Korzo and Kalpanarts are the initiators of the series and choreographer Kalpana Raghuraman will start the series on May 26 (during India Dance Festival!) in Korzo theatre.
During the first workshop you will learn about different styles within the Bharatanatyam. This gives you insight into how certain movements can be performed within the various styles.
You work on a choreography and become part of the process of creating a Bharatanatyam piece in the Kalpanarts way. You learn to create dance material yourself and to think along in the creation process. You experience how Kalpana makes her choices and combines and adapts movements.
For whom:
This series is intended as a supplement to your education and a way to grow inspired. You can participate in these series if you have at least 4 years of Bharatanatyam dance experience.

About Kalpana Raghuraman:
She studied BN with her mother Sharadha Raghuraman who organized many performances and workshops in NL through her school. After her education (Arangetram) she went to India to continue her studies and has a lot of knowledge that she likes to share with the younger generation.
