In powerful, rhythmic movements, the Vietnamese-Dutch choreographer and movement artist Tú Hoàng explores in The Error of Being what makes us human in an age of control, speed and perfection. Five dancers move almost mechanically, until emotion inevitably breaks through. Tú’s hybrid dance language – in which Eastern philosophy, urban and contemporary dance merge – is amplified in this site-specific performance by an industrial musical soundscape. The Error of Being reveals the beauty of faltering, doubting and breaking: precisely where our humanity becomes visible.
