Consciousness-shifting concert with microdose psychedelic truffles
How do psychedelic truffles influence our experience of music? Discover it in Sofia’s Trip. Relax in a beanbag and, under professional guidance, experience a low dose of legal psychedelic truffles, while the Lonelinoise orchestra takes you on a trance-like live journey. Intense and subtle sounds surround you, gently guiding your experience as your sense of time begins to dissolve. All of this unfolds as you contribute to a unique scientific study by Leiden University.
Transcendent music from Russia and Iran
Bassoonist and managing director of Lonelinoise, Thomas Dulfer, conceived Sofia’s Trip. During this journey, he serves as your musical guide, opening gateways to subconscious worlds with his 10-piece orchestra.
You are immersed in the intense music of composer Sofia Gubaidulina, filled with human suffering somewhere between heaven and earth. At the same time, you are carried by the calming, repetitive music of Soheil Shayesteh. He improvises live on the kamancheh (spike fiddle), blending Iranian melodies with live electronics.
Your journey is continuously shaped and steered by the music, or perhaps it is the journey itself that shapes the music.
Disclaimer
Sofia’s Trip uses a low dose of legal psychedelic truffles in selected performances, offered under the supervision of certified trip guides in collaboration with the PRSM lab at Leiden University. Participation is at your own risk. Lonelinoise and Korzo are not responsible for individual health effects. Not suitable for people with a history of psychotic episodes, for those using certain medication, or during pregnancy. All participants are screened in advance and fully informed.
Sofia’s Trip is not only an artistic project, but also part of a scientific study in collaboration with the PRSM lab at Leiden University. This lab investigates the effects of psychedelics on the experience of music. Participants in the Truffle Trip are surveyed before and after the concert in order to gain more insight into the influence of truffles on musical perception.

Lonelinoise is always searching for new ways to convey the power of contemporary music. Alongside performing at the highest artistic level and with great passion, the ensemble actively develops bold programming, narratives, and presentation formats that bring music into focus in new ways.
Lonelinoise has performed at major venues such as the Concertgebouw and De Doelen, as well as in unconventional locations including the Frisian Wadden Sea, an abandoned factory, and a forest lake.
Thomas Dulfer is bassoonist and managing director of Lonelinoise. He is the initiator and soloist of Sofia’s Trip. As both a cardiovascular scientist and musician, he works across fields that are not usually connected, bringing together music, consciousness, and science in this project.
Sebastiaan Kemner is trombonist and artistic director of Lonelinoise. He won the Dutch Music Prize in 2021 and conducts research at the University of Oxford on how contemporary music reaches audiences. In Sofia’s Trip, he conducts the ensemble.
