Bollywood Sutra
Bollywood exponent Shampa Gopikrishna is a choreographer straight from the cradle of the Bollywood Industry in India. She has worked extensively across film, theatre and TV and many have seen her work in famous dance shows such as Jhalak dikhla jhaa and with popular Bollywood tunes such as Pinga from the movie Bajirao Mastani, Malang from the movie Dhoom 3, and the Hollywood film Heartbeats. She has choreographed for Indian stars like Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Shampa’s style is a refreshing mix of the classical styles such as Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak, fused with contemporary moves. Now she comes to the Netherlands for the first time. In this two day Bollywood workshop she’ll teach the intricacies of Bollywood dance and rehearse a choreography.
Note: participants who do the full weekend can show the choreography during Colours of India on Saturday evening 28th of May.
This workshop is suitable for intermediate dancers of all styles who are interested in Bollywood.
