Get a taste of a work-in-progress and chat with the maker.
During an open studio you get to peek into Korzo's rehearsal studios for free. Usually an audience only gets to see the final result of a performance, but a couple of times a year you can get a taste of a performance that is currently being created in Korzo. The audience not only gets an exclusive preview, but also serves as the first critic.
This time, house maker Rutkay Özpinar invites you to be the first to come see his new work Something about Something. This duet will premiere on March 14 along with a new work by Zino Schat. You will be among the first to get a glimpse of Something about Something.
Rutkay Özpinar (1991) is a Turkish/Dutch choreographer with an extensive background in dance, like hip hop, classical ballet, Turkish folk dance and contemporary dance. Rutkay started dancing hip hop and breakdance from a very young age and later made the switch to contemporary dance and classical ballet. He did the Boys Action-program with Artez and graduated from the Codarts in Rotterdam. In 2014 he created his very first work for Korzo at the age of 23, which made him the youngest choreographer to date in The Netherlands. Rutkay currently is one of Korzo’s in-house makers. Since 2015 he is also a guest dancer with Introdans.
