An homage to singles; the unattached, the adventurers, and to everyone’s inventive self

L O N E is an abstract solo circus performance that makes up the balance between being alone or being lonely. In a world where we are constantly connected to each other, a fear of being alone has increased. We have come to associate being alone with being lonely. Luuk Brantjes – specialist on the teeterboard – particularly wants the ‘self’ that is comfortable with self-reflection, and thus to lay the emphasis on the joy, the beauty, and the repose that this entails. L O N E is an homage to singles; the unattached, the adventurers, and to everyone’s inventive self.

Teeterboard is a discipline that calls on many strengths and forces that can be translated into a state of weightlessness. By way of an innovative construction it is possible to perform individually, that which was originally a group discipline. Searching for how to relate to an object that replaces his human partner, Luuk tries to approach the teeterboard from a new angle; from the perspective of an individual.
