With the Korzo X program, we invite creators with a unique vision to curate an evening. This edition of Korzo X is curated by the creative duo Marta & Kim. They present a special double bill with two Dutch premieres by female choreographers: A Body and Other Objects by Ana Jordão and STIGMA by Kitt Johnson.
Marta & Kim focus on the evolution of a work of art and the question of how live performances develop and age. How do performances stay relevant? And how does the body evolve in the performance? STIGMA, created 25 years ago, is in continuous development, while A Body and Other Objects is a brand new creation that has emerged through various residencies.
Centuries later, millions of people still enjoy paintings like Girl with a Pearl Earring, while a performance often lives no longer than a single cultural season. This evening is about more than just the latest sensation – it’s a celebration of how art continues to evolve, from birth to its ongoing transformation.

Ana Jordão works in her own way: a slow process of creation, puzzling, and discovery. She doesn’t follow a six-week production cycle but a process of residencies and presenting unfinished versions. A Body and Other Objects has been carefully and patiently developed, already making an interesting journey before its premiere. It raises the question: how can a performance grow and deepen over time?

A performance that may answer this question is Kitt Johnson’s STIGMA. For 25 years, Kitt has toured the world with it, and every time, the audience is deeply moved. Her process also began with extensive research. She, too, sees the value and impact of time on a performance.
