Blow a Wish is an acrobatic dance performance inside a plexiglass box that you move around as an audience, while wondering what kind of hallucinatory world is unfolding before you. Between transparent walls, floating balloons, and deep desires, Meike Munch moves as if gravity follows different rules. Her body stretches, trembles, and twists into unfamiliar shapes, as if multiple forces are pulling at her at once, much like desires can simultaneously drive and confine us.

Performance art that frees desire from expectation
By moving around the box, the audience can decide from which angle they observe this fascinating spectacle. This makes Blow a Wish a form of performance art in which your own perception becomes part of the narrative. The box was developed in collaboration with the Danish artistic platform Hangar People and shows how the dreams we pursue can sometimes limit us rather than set us free. So should we, then, simply accept boredom and unfulfilled wishes?

Meike Munch is a German dance maker and acrobat with a deep fascination for the physical possibilities of the human body. In her work, she explores the intersection between partner work in dance and circus. From the age of twelve, she trained in partner and group acrobatics, including at CircArtive School. Later, she shifted her focus to dance and studied at Balettakademien in Stockholm and ArtEZ University of the Arts.

Emotional expressiveness lies at the core of her practice. Through movement, she creates visual, metaphorical worlds that leave space for the audience’s own interpretation and imagination.

In 2025, Meike Munch founded Falling Club: a movement collective of eight like-minded artists from across Europe, based in the Netherlands. Together, they develop interdisciplinary performances, lead workshops, and explore new forms of artistic collaboration.
