Up & Coming Choreographers
| Choreographers | Sofia Nappi, Ella Rothschild, Kor'sia |
| Duration | 90 min |
Each season, NDT and Korzo give emerging, talented makers the chance to create a work for an intimate setting in Up & Coming Choreographers. This project is a springboard for new voices, experimentation, and artistic exchange. The collaboration culminates in performances by NDT 2 dancers in our spacious-yet-intimate auditorium.
This season we welcome Rachelle Scott and Tom Weinberger as our Up & Coming Choreographers. With their inspiring visions and movement languages, they offer a glimpse into the future of contemporary dance. We’re proud to support them in their artistic development and you’re invited to come cheer them on.
Rachelle Scott is a choreographer and artist. After studying at the Alvin Ailey School and Juilliard, she danced with Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and later as a soloist with Nürnberg Ballett Staatstheater. She is currently a dancer with Theater Basel. Her choreographies have been performed by various companies, and she has won several awards, including at the Dare 2 Dance Film Festival and the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival.
Tom Weinberger studied at the Amal School of Arts and Sciences and began his dance career with the Batsheva Ensemble and later the Batsheva Dance Company, where he created his first choreographies. In 2012, he co-founded S-E-D (formerly L-E-V), led by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar. Tom has created work for Johannes Wieland Dance Company, Ate9 Dance Company, Springboard Danse Montreal, and Arts Umbrella, and in 2021 he created The Most Fascinating Problem In The World for NDT 2.
