A journey full of feelings and emotions difficult to describe in words.
The Basement. A journey full of feelings and emotions difficult to describe in words. Ungraspable yet felt with intensity. The Basement is a fictional space based on true events. Making visible the invisible.
This solo work explores the multiple realities and fictions that arise from the dynamics expressed when power relationships are morphed. It is intuition led; allowing the body to speak through physical expression and freedom.
The practice of freedom; personal and artistic. A freedom that requires labor, courage and urgency to expand beyond imposed limits of acceptability, legitimacy or beauty.
Daniel was part of the previous edition of CaDance Festival with his solo 71BODIES 1DANCE which featured his own story as a transman and that of 71 other trans people.
"...having full agency of my body yet being fearless in my vulnerability. Exposing vulnerability as a strength. A process that needed solitude in the making, in order to understand how to collectively share this journey. This work is essentially about liberation. Reality and fiction coexisting at the same time. Erasing borders of what is real and what has been created. In order to connect through a shared liberation an internal revolution must happen."
