Lena (3): “Circus with tape!”
Otto (2): “With the tape and the dancing. And the cars.”
How about that: a dancer, a circus artist and a cellist all on one stage! Together they explore a space full of lines and wheels, where a handsome musician on the cello makes beautiful music. As an audience, we slowly but surely end up on the stage ourselves. Toddlers and parents throw themselves on rolls of stage tape, make lines and pick them loose. If you roll past on a cart, you are participating in this circus.
This performance is part of festival De Betovering’s program at Korzo.
dt DaalRuit is the company of director Diede Daalman and dance maker Rebecca Wijnruit. They love to make adventurous and surprising dance theatre. The young audience is actively invited to enter the stage. In this way, toddlers become co-players, sparking unexpected encounters and interactions. This results in layered, witty and moving performances that are never ever the same. Diede and Rebecca enjoy working with circus artists, fashion designers, visual artists, classical musicians and many others.
Play: Rebecca Wijnruit, Melody Nolan, Johannes Karst Director: Diede Daalman Music: Johannes Karst
