Begone with stereotypes!
The Hague Festival Dag in de Branding organizes a one-day program three times a year at various locations in the city. With new music that shows current developments in classical and improvised music, musical theater, jazz and pop music, opera and electronics. In Korzo on March 16, SMASH.duo and Spaceship Ensemble will perform.

Trumpet and percussion: they have been an unbeatable duo since the time of the ancient Greeks. With a military edge, but also a touch of jazz, SMASH.duo harnesses this fact and challenges five composers to push the boundaries with brand new works.
Trumpeter Chloë Abbott and percussionist Moritz Koch are both very active in the European new music scene. As SMASH.duo they battle the stereotypes that have arisen around their ancient instrument combination. Don't expect a neat recital, but something more along the lines of a pop concert, with inventive lighting and stage design. SMASH.duo asked five composers with very different styles to write new pieces for them. One of them, Sara Zamboni, also lives in The Hague. The other four are Vicente Atria, Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson, Jessie Marino and Sowon Yun. What they have in common is an affinity with pop music and electronica – and, of course, an innate disdain for stereotypes.
