"A performance that works like an antidepressant. "
— De Volkskrant
With this show, De Dansers shakes something loose inside you – a pent-up frustration that’s been quietly simmering away. They did it before to raucous applause at Lowlands and Zwarte Cross, and now it’s Korzo’s turn.
Armed with passionate musicians, velvety-smooth dancers, guitars, loop stations, and body percussion, they turn songs about feeling stuck, chasing the top, and hitting rock bottom into a full-blown dance performance. Or better yet: a collective rock ‘n’ roll ritual powered by music and fuelled by sheer spirit. Come and get your shake on.
De Dansers is a dynamic band of dancers and musicians from Utrecht, led by choreographer and dancer Josephine van Rheenen and composer and musician Guy Corneille. They believe true connection starts in the body. In a world increasingly dominated by screens, De Dansers create physical, musical performances that let the body do the talking. Their dance concerts – equal parts modern dance and live music – are raw, intuitive, and utterly captivating.
Their productions tell accessible, immersive stories of freedom and surrender with a touch of playful anarchy. They shake loose what's stuck and pause where more focus is needed. With rhythm, touch, and immersion, they make art that lifts you out of the everyday. For children whose imagination reigns over reason and whose movement comes naturally. And for adults whose bodies have forgotten what they once knew: the feeling of falling, touching, playing, and living.
