Rage Against Various Elements

Maker Connor Schumacher/ARK
Duration 60 min

Everything burns on the dancefloor

Raging Against Various Elements is a loud, dark, flashy and ecstatic live performance, sparked by a lust for life. With six professional ravers, Connor shows how sadness, pain, love, pleasure, dance and death expose the fire of life and how it burns on the dance floor. An exorcism where joy is birthed from the edge of despair.

According to Connor, dance allows you to create an environment that helps us process, practice, explore and let go of what we have no control over. This multidisciplinary performance challenges everyone to push themselves to the limit together. Because even if we don't have control over anything else, we do have control over ourselves.

Connor Schumacher has formed a clear vision of what he wants with his work: to move people. Under the banner of his own foundation ARK, founded in 2020, Connor's broad practice takes shape with various performances where a deep connection with the audience is the leading catalyst.

In 2019 he won the Dutch Dance Days Prize and in 2022 he was one of the five nominees for the Giekses Strijbis Podium Prize. It's his deep belief that our society would be better off if we danced every day.
