At Playground, you come face to face with the raw energy and boldness of local talent in short performances. From music to dance, circus to drag, and every possible combination in between. Supporting emerging makers under the radar through provocative performances Every year, Korzo receives dozens of applications for Playground from emerging makers with a connection to The Hague. A local jury selects four artists who present their work on Korzo’s professional stage during Playground. They are also supported with additional visibility and the opportunity to reach a warm and engaged audience.
In this way, Playground becomes a platform, or rather a playground, where local makers dare, dream, and do.
Freddie brings together dance, film, and spoken word. In BARSTEN BLOEIEN 5 dancers move through overlooked human facets of transness from a trans masculine perspective: endless waiting, doubt, hope, disappointment, and chosen community.
Lilian Kafa is a dancer and choreographer and Wajeeh Qadamani is a visual artist. With Manifestaties, the makers introduce the Arabic letter and Arabic culture in a contemporary way: not as something distant or traditional, but as a living language that anyone can feel, whether or not you can read it.
Shyrel is a French artist whose world revolves around the raw power of aerial straps and the tender vulnerability of the clown. Her piece explores the weight of the emotional charge, this invisible heaviness that accumulates in both literal and figurative senses.
