Our life is intertwined with the presence of plastic
Plastic Life is a ritualistic embodiment of our consumption; it delves into the core of our modern existence, where life is intertwined with the presence of plastic. This performance is part of our lunch-series and will take place during the day.
Plastic Life explores, using plastic bags as both medium and metaphor, the duality of this ubiquitous material—artificial yet malleable. We move through the plastic-saturated landscape, question our relationship with plastic, and contemplate the plasticity of our response to an impending climate crisis. Gradually, the material changes; the plastic, initially playful and light, and the movement language as well. Both transform into a dominant mass, assuming threatening forms
Claire Hermans & Tijmen Teunissen both graduated in dance and have long worked together as interdisciplinary performers. Now they are also joining forces as creators. Besides creating and choreographing their performances, they also create the music, scenography and costumes themselves. Their work explores the territory between dance, physical theatre and performance art.
