Lucie de Saint Vincent’s musical career initially kicked off as a performer and improviser, but increasingly she developed herself as an autonomous composer. As a pianist and composer, she navigates between different musical worlds, styles and keyboard instruments. She started improvising at an early age: from the age of 16 she studied jazz and composition at the Perpignan Conservatory and then composed her first pieces there. During her Master's studies at the conservatories of Paris and Utrecht, she combined classical training with jazz as her second major. She then studied fortepiano in The Hague.

Between 2014 and 2021 she took part in residencies at Royaumont Abbey around Transcultural projects. Musicians from different cultures participated, from South Asia to Cameroon. The first residency became a landmark moment in her development as a maker, giving her motivation to create more exchanges between cultures, styles and genres. In recent years she has focused on developing her own musical language in which she makes these ideas concrete.
