PART

OFFprojects is a collective gathered around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal. As part of their 10 year jubilee at Korzo, OFFprojects are presenting ‘So Far’, a selection of their installation and video works from over the years.

The group’s fascination with space and time and how these concepts affect human relationships, has led to several hypnotising and playful works. One of which was created with long time collaborator Gosse de Kort. The pieces will be visible in the Korzo foyer and studio on Friday and Saturday (10+11 May) and are free to visit. On Saturday the audience can visit the installations before or after OFFprojects’ performance of PART in the main hall.

PART is about emptiness and fragmentation. What remains when we withdraw or delete something? What potential does negative space have? What comes to light when we unravel the whole and look at the individual parts? Emptiness is often associated with loss, but PART shows that it can also mean new potential – right now.

With Beethoven's monumental string quartet op.132 as point of departure, one of his last and most rich works, choreographer Ben-Tal and the ensemble of ten top dancers and musicians deconstruct and play with the notion of emptiness. The audience sits around the stage. With the additional element of Salvador Breed's magical sound composition, PART takes the audience on an emotional and philosophical journey through space, movement and sound.

OFFprojects is a collective that creates interdisciplinary performances and installations with dance, music, image and word. It consists of former dancers from the Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Ensemble who gather around the work of choreographer and musician Amos Ben-Tal. Their most recent performance Interval was nominated for De Zwaan in 2022 for the most impressive dance production.

Ragazze Quartet plays classical and modern string quartets: passionate and at the highest level. With high-profile programmes, the quartet has developed into one of the most fresh and leading voices in classical music.

Salvador Breed creates sound, music and technology for a wide variety of contexts such as live performances, fashion shows, video art and interactive art installations.
