No Dreams, No Gold

Artist Ingrid Berger Myhre & Lasse Passage
Duration 60 min

The togetherness of Ingrid & Lasse brings a lot of joy

No Dreams, No Gold might be a performance about pauses.

But it also might be about structure, about performing your own material, about digressions, about wet dreams and electroacoustic music, about absence, about how and when to drink coffee, about the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Funny and heartwarming: Ingrid Berger Myhre and Lasse Passage always leave you in a better place after seeing a show of theirs. In No Dreams, No Gold, the duo contemplate the conventions of music and dance once again.

Lasse Passage is a composer and a musician. Ingrid Berger Myhre is a choreographer and a dancer. From these very different experiences and perspectives, Ingrid and Lasse meet on stage in a space of negotiation, at the periphery of their respective expertise. As a result, No Dreams, No Gold slips easily between a broad range of genres: from erotic hörspiels, to hybris lectures and relentless one-man-bands.

Departing from the auto-biographical, Lasse and Ingrid have given themselves the assignment and the license to drift off into fictional spaces. Are pause and structure simply two sides of the same coin — something to hold onto, and something to lean into?

In 2019 they made the performance Panflutes and Paperwork. No Dreams, No Gold is their next stage production, in which they continue to contemplate the conventions of music and dance with warmth and humor. As the materials weave a DIY network of formats and genres, dreams and digressions - Ingrid and Lasse become each others licence and support, in a performance about what the theatre does best: togetherness in real and imagined places.
