Duration | 135 min |
Join us for an evening where Marta & Kim present a captivating double program!
Centuries later, millions of people still enjoy a painting like "Girl with a Pearl Earring," while a performance often lives for no more than one cultural season. This evening is about more than just the latest sensation – it is a celebration of how art continues to evolve, from its birth to its ongoing development.
Korzo X
With the Korzo X program, we invite creators with a unique vision to curate an evening. This edition of Korzo X is curated by the creative duo Marta & Kim. They present a special double bill with two Dutch premieres by female choreographers: A Body and Other Objects by Ana Jordão and STIGMA by Kitt Johnson.
Program
Marta & Kim focus on the evolution of a work of art and the question of how live performances develop and age. How do performances stay relevant? And how does the body evolve in the performance? STIGMA, created 25 years ago, is in continuous development, while A Body and Other Objects is a brand new creation that has emerged through various residencies.
Marta & Kim invite you to be part of this evening focused on the importance of time, patience, and the evolution of art. Let yourself be taken on a journey through the powerful, female perspectives these performances offer, and discover how they – just like the performers themselves – continue to grow and evolve.
After the performances, there will be a post-show discussion in the foyer, where Marta and Kim will engage in a conversation with the audience and two people that were selected during a social media call to action.
19:30-19:40 Introduction of Marta & Kim in the foyer
19:40-20:40 Ana Jordão - A BODY AND OTHER OBJECTS in Korzo Studio
21:00-21:25 Kitt Johnson - Stigma in the Korzo Hall
21:25-21:45 Discussion with Marta & Kim in the foyer
A BODY AND OTHER OBJECTS is an investigation into the fantasy of the weightless body, it asks: what if, through deep trust and intricate physical collaboration, the laws of gravity could be pushed to breaking point?
Exploring the spectrum between gravity and weightlessness and reality and illusion, the work encourages the audience to momentarily set aside familiar notions of the body, and rediscover its limitless potential.
The performance is woven together through a highly detailed musical composition from Fabian Laute, offering the piece a crafted and unifying aesthetic.

How can a performance evolve and deepen over time?
One performance that beautifully answers this question is Kitt Johnson’s STIGMA. For 25 years, Kitt has brought this powerful work to audiences around the world, allowing it to continuously grow and resonate with each new experience.
Stigma is a dark enigmatic solo performance focusing on that brand (burned into the flesh) which places one apart from others. Sounds, lights and movements create a dramatic and tense expression that appeals to the emotions and intrigues the intellect.
Stigma has toured extensively ever since, and with this prized artistic work Kitt Johnson fully displays her unique ability to combine all the elements of the stage with a distinct body control to master a very personal style.
An iconic piece of contemporary dance!
