Philip Glass & Anthony Fiumara
The development of percussion and minimal music go hand in hand. Philip Glass is one of the pioneers in the field of minimal music. His radical early works are the inspiration for Glass Interludes. Dutch composer Anthony Fiumara is a great admirer of Philip Glass and in recent years proven to be a composer who can manoeuvre among different musical styles and zeitgeists. For the occasion of this program, he wrote commentary pieces for a few revolutionary works by Glass that shocked audiences at first hearing. In addition, he arranged these pearls of minimal music for a surprisingly unconventional collection of instruments. It promises to be an evening where the mind is emptied and the experience is primary.
