A Dutch premiere and a Korzo maker in residence

A double-bill with two familiar faces: Korzo maker in residence Zino Schat presents Exit Sign and Ukrainian dancer and choreographer Vladyslav Detiuchenko shows the Dutch premiere of his piece Stand By Me.

About Stand By Me (Dutch premiere)
She longs for his arrival. With dreams and intoxicating illusions, she reaches out to the ‘absolute darkness’, a core that offers hope to lose oneself in the tender memories of timeless happiness. Where does this path lead, with the ghosts from the past? To the spirits?

Perhaps she finds herself in the embrace of a formless soul. When did we deviate from our path? Memory is the worst ally we have. Perhaps it is merely the invention of the mind - a play of tangled thoughts and absurdities, in the web of sorrow and readiness to embrace death for the sake of absolute honest love. What is reality and what is fiction? At what moment did we veer off course?

About Exit Sign
With more power, you can make more impact. At least, that's what you would say. Unfortunately, all too often people lose themselves in the lust for power and anxiously cling to their powerful position in the world. How much impact are you able to make?

Exit Sign is a mirror of our classical pyramid-shaped hierarchy, with men doing everything they can to climb even higher. The intentions may have been good in the beginning, but get sullied by the self-centred drive to reach the top.

Fractal's choreographer and artistic director Zino Schat drew inspiration for Exit Sign from his experiences from the battle scene and current conflicts in the world.
