What is it like to be different?
In this bold and tender performance installation, space is created for otherness. Sensitivity, slowness, and unconventional ways of thinking are celebrated as sources of connection, imagination, and knowledge. Move through [DIS]ORDER at your own pace and feel, hear, and experience the world in a completely different way. In a society tuned to speed and adaptability, we ask: what if every brain, every perception, every rhythm mattered?
An installation that disrupts the norm, not the person
Neurodivergent people are often expected to adapt to a fast-paced world. Their sensitivity, slowness, and alternative ways of thinking are frequently overlooked or suppressed. [DIS]ORDER challenges dominant norms through an installation of shifting light, sound, and projections.
This space has no fixed beginning and no linear narrative. Time stretches or seems to stand still. Here, the environment adapts to the audience, not the other way around. It is both confronting and safe.
From Mysteryland to TENT, Felix Meritis to Amsterdam Fringe
The Rotterdam-based collective Hipsick has its roots in the squatters’ scene and its tentacles in rave culture. They challenge audiences to temporarily let go of everything they think they know. Their performances and installations do not follow rules, resist definition, and continuously question social norms, dominant identities, and conventional body images, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
