What’s it like to be different?
In this bold yet tender performance-installation, space is created for difference. Here, sensitivity, slowness, and unconventional ways of thinking are celebrated as sources of connection, imagination, and knowledge. Move through [DIS] ORDER at your own pace and experience the world in a completely different way. In a society shaped by speed and adaptation, we ask: what if every mind, every perception, every rhythm truly mattered?
An installation that disrupts the norm, not the person
Neurodivergent people are often expected to adapt to our fast-paced world. Their sensitivity, slowness, and alternative ways of thinking are often overlooked or suppressed. [DIS]ORDER challenges this dominant norm with an installation of shifting light, sound, and projections. The space has no fixed beginning and no linear narrative. Time seems to stretch or stand still. Here, the space adapts to the audience, not the other way around. Confrontational yet safe.
From Mysteryland to TENT and from Felix Meritis to Amsterdam Fringe
Based in Rotterdam, Hipsick has roots in the squatters’ scene and rave culture. They invite audiences to let go of everything they think they know. Their performances and installations resist definition and refuse to follow rules, questioning and challenging dominant social norms, identities, and body ideals both in the Netherlands and internationally.
