Season 26-27

Mythical whispers of the inner wounded

Children of Zeus is a living exhibition that incorporates dance, water, and rhythm, Against a dreamlike backdrop, an intuitive journey unfolds, raising urgent questions about our relationship with nature, our bodies, and spirituality in today’s technological world.

Within a mythical swamp, queer performers explore the healing power of water. Here, they manifest their freedom from the oppressive patriarchal forces of Zeus. Old paradigms begin to dissolve, though not without resistance. Through their transformative powers, the children bring a fluid world into being, restoring the balance between humanity and nature.

What if the path to another world starts with water, our bodies, rhythm, and the wisdoms of our ancestors?

Choreographer Robbeduz (Robin Nimanong; they/them) joins forces with visual artist Valentina Gal (she/her), who created an installation of water and sculptures for this performance.

ROBBEDUZ’s work is rooted in queer art, bringing queer identity and theory together as a starting point for intimate artistic collaboration. Their work draws on dance, queer ecology, and decolonization, weaving together questions about identity and self-care while crossing the boundaries between performance art, dance, and other disciplines. Valentina Gal (1994) is a Dutch multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the boundary between physical reality and the worlds we create to survive within it. Her practice centers on immersive video installations, sculpture, and sensory experiences.
