So(ul)cietySocietal issues are addressed in this work, however complicated they may be.

"Time and again [Femke Gyselinck] subverts the grammar of dance language. [...] Gyselinck succeeds with verve in erasing the difference between dancers with and without disabilities. It’s no longer an issue: all the focus is on the dancing itself."
— Charlotte De Somviele, De Standaard.
"The music played live by pianist Hendrik Lasure [...] and saxophonist Adia Vanheerentals is of an enormous added value. As are the colorful costumes. The idea that the limitations of the dancers are relative, too - because together this trio feels above all limitlessly graceful."
— Magali De Grande, Het Nieuwsblad
"The real fun starts towards the end of the performance, but the slow build-up to makes it more than worth it.’"
— Mia Vaerman, pzazz
"Above all, you see three people – one exuberant, the other sensitive and the third reasoned – who, bolstered by two master musicians, depict the ups and downs in life."
— Els Van Steenberge, Focus Knack
A couple of duets between piano & sax and dance & music
How do you change a dance plan? Choreographer Femke Gyselinck, together with Zanne Boon and Oskar Stalpaert – two dancers from the inclusive dance collective Platform-K – navigate the tension between choreography as a series of agreements (or plans) and how those plans actually come to life. They’ve noticed their plans are immediately thrown into disarray as soon as you start dancing together on a stage with an irregular shape and erratic height differences.
The title of the performance - Change of Plans - refers to a verse from My Future, a song by Billie Eilish where she reflects on the past and looks forward into the future with hope. Femke Gyselinck couldn’t reach Billie Eilish, unfortunately, but musicians Hendrik Lasure (piano, keyboard) and Adia Vanheerentals (sax) answered the call. Together they wrote an original soundtrack for Change of Plans and performed it live.
The five performers work together to find snappy answers to questions raised by the title. How do you change a dance plan? In Change of Plans you experience how exciting it is to watch dancers adjusting and coordinating their plans on the fly. No sabotage, but an invitation between three dancers who each deal with the given choreography very differently, and in their own individual way.
