“…catcalling, coping, chaos, consequences, chicks before dicks“
What is the meaning behind a border? A geographical separation, a racist mindset, a personal safe space.
In Breakin’ Borders, sixteen young international performers asked themselves what kind of borders they experience in today’s society. From being catcalled, to war and hate that compares to the past, the performers are aiming to overcome those extremities through dance and spoken word resulting in a constant confrontation of individuality and belonging.

Breakin’ Borders is a youth exchange program between The Netherlands and Germany. Two groups of young performers came together to research the topic of borders guided by coaches in dance, spoken word and theater. The past 9 months, a group of people from Germany and The Netherlands followed classes and exchange their findings both live and digitally, share knowledge, and present a unique performance in The Hague.
Fractal Collective together with Dance In FFM (Germany) and Korzo (The Netherlands) collaborated in this youth exchange program based on the question: which boundaries keep us away from a stereotype-free life?
