Astrid's work from 2019, Decay, is coming back during our very first afternoon performance!

Decay represents a temporal process. The initial perfection of the surface is an illusion of stopping time. Life struggles to resurface out of the body.  In Decay the body is a skin that is absent, that does not respond to its internal movement. An inner mind is contained, it is constantly trying to revive its non-responding body. Consciousness is fighting to not surrender to the limitations of the body.

Decay premiered during the program All There Is in 2019.

"In een wereld die geobsedeerd is door het behoud van de jeugd (en een schoonheidsindustrie die daar op monumentale wijze van profiteert) vormen ouderdom en verval een fascinerende studie. Pascal Marty's tweede solo Decay, een wereldpremière gechoreografeerd door Astrid Boons op een opdrachtscore van Miguelángel Clerc Parada, gaat verder dan het masker van oppervlakkige perfectie dat het verstrijken van de tijd alleen maar kan vertragen. Het graaft onder de huid om getuige te zijn van een strijd tegen de beperkingen van het lichaam. Hier verandert Marty's verfijnde spierstelsel van de vloeiende schoonheid van Epilogue in innerlijke kwelling, waarbij de strijd in grafisch detail wordt vastgelegd terwijl zijn lichaam kronkelt en vervormt in buitengewone vormen. Onderstromen verschuiven, en het dynamische tempo varieert, maar de krampen en de pijn blijven onveranderd in een alles verterende voorstelling."
