Mental health within the performing arts: Korzo Salon
The mental health of circus performers, dancers, and physical theatre artists is increasing under pressure. Factors like performance anxiety, financial insecurity, daily stress, and the constant perfectionism on social media are taking a toll. At Korzo, we’ve noticed a rise in burnout and stress-related issues in our community, and we’re committed to addressing these challenges.
Join us on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Korzo Salon.
This event will focus on mental health within the performing arts. We aim to create a safe space for sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, and exploring ways to better care for ourselves and each other.
What to Expect:
- Expert talks by Diana van Winden (psychologist, teacher, and researcher) and Brendon Koolen (psychologist), both specializing in supporting athletes and artists.
- A short online lecture by Luisa Saraiva (performer, choreographer, and psychology background).
- Practical tips and exercises on managing performance pressure and mental stress.
- Information on where to find support when you need it.
- An open conversation to break the stigma around mental health in the arts.
Who Is It For?
This Salon is for dancers, physical theatre artists, and circus performers who recognize these challenges or want to strengthen their mental resilience.
