CaDance returns to The Hague: Where Worlds Collide and Connect
CaDance is back in Korzo: from May 18 to 29 May the adventorous biënnale festival showcases the latest and newest movement in the area of dance, circus and physical theatre.
During twelve days of festival in The Hague, CaDance presents seven world premieres and five international performances. The festival welcomes you to enter the world of ‘the other’ more than ever with the theme Where Worlds Collide and Connect. CaDance is based in Korzo, but will also spread its wings this year for special performances throughout the city. From Korzo to Laakhavens, de Lutherse Kerk, the square of Central Station: CaDance aims to move the people of The Hague.
Opening with two world premieres and the Leo Spreksel Award
CaDance will have it’s opening night May 18 with two world premieres. Reroute is a new city route, where the audience walks the streets of The Hague city centre to encounter some short performances. In Korzo theater, we present the world premiere of Songs and Silences by OFFprojects (the company of former Nederlands Dans Theater-dancer Amos Ben-Tal). Cherry on top of the cake is the Leo Spreksel Award: this award will be presented to a young and talented dancer and choreographer. Previous winners include Justin de Jager and Christian Yav & Sedrig Verwoert.
The theme of this years CaDance: Where Worlds Collide and Collect
The first live edition of CaDance since 2019 is – more than ever – an invitation to enter the world of ‘the other’. The programma aims to let worlds collide and bring them together. CaDance invites you to join this adventure.
The festival has always been an important starting point for talented makers to present new work. During this years edition, CaDance presents world premieres by Korzo-affiliated makers like Junadry Leocaria & Richard Kofi, Faizah Grootens, Constantin Trommlitz and Roshanak Morrowatian.
Other must-sees include (international) pieces that make their debut in The Hague, like the works of Piet Van Dycke, Alexander Vantournhout, Daniel Mariblanca and Alexandre Fandard.
