Get Moving presents: Celebrating Differences
Do you want to create dance together, deepen your artistic practice, and perform on the Korzo stage?
This spring, Korzo launches an intensive programme for young dancers and performers aged 15–25. Over the course of 16 weeks, you will work under the guidance of choreographer Vainergill Thurnim towards a new performance: Celebrating Differences.
In this programme, your own voice is central—not only what you say, but what you move, feel, and share. Together with other participants, you explore how differences can actually connect us.
About the programme
Across 24 rehearsals, you will work weekly at Korzo on the creation of a professional dance performance. You will delve into movement, expression, and collaboration, and experience how an artistic process develops from first impulse to performance.
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Rehearsals:
- Weekly on Wednesday evenings
- From 11 April onwards, also every Saturday
- Location: Korzo, The Hague
- Performances: 12, 13, and 14 June at Korzo
About the performance – Celebrating Differences
Celebrating Differences starts from the idea that true connection emerges when we dare to show our inner world. Differences are not smoothed over, but made visible, celebrated, and shared. The stage becomes a meeting place: between you, the group, and the audience.
About the choreographer
Vainergill Thurnim (1997, Amsterdam) creates work driven by the desire to build spaces in which people feel seen and heard—with their whole being. Her working method is open, sensitive, and carefully structured. Vulnerability is not a weakness, but a strength.
Vainergill has previously worked with large and diverse groups in projects such as BLINDSIGHT, Dat de zon altijd schijnt, and ECHOES. Thanks to her background as a dance teacher, she is skilled at guiding different levels, learning styles, and personalities. The rehearsal space is safe, structured, and inviting, with attention to mutual exchange.
She graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Dance (Dance Education) and has a broad background in both commercial and contemporary dance, with influences from (West) African dance techniques. Vainergill has collaborated with, among others, Alida Dors, Roshanak Morrowatian, Frascati, Podium Mozaïek, ITA, Danstheater AYA, and DOX.
Who is this for?
This programme is for young people aged 15–25 with an interest in dance and performance. You do not need to be a professional dancer, but you do need to be curious, motivated, and willing to explore yourself artistically within a group.
