Bertwin Ravi D'souza, is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer, teacher & movement coach, based in Mumbai, India. He started his formal training at the Mumbai based Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company, where he essayed the roles of Assistant Choreographer & Rehearsal Director, creating numerous contemporary & commercial productions globally. He has also trained with highly acclaimed international artists like David Zambrano, Yuval Pick, Suzanne Linke, Damien Jalet, Frey Faust & at Noah Wertheim's Vertigo Dance Company in Israel.
He has founded the 'FLESH N BONES' technique, which is a instinctively raw approach to exploring and creating movement. Bertwin uses this technique effectively in his creations and also to empower dancers, actors & other movement enthusiasts by conducting workshops in India & abroad.
His current international online work include performances like 'GATE 33.3' (Solo piece for Sanskar festival), 'VACCUM' Dance film' (collaboration with Edya Stern, Israel, presented at JerseyShore film festival & Florence dance onscreen 2021) & 'AVATAR ME' (A live-digital theatre performance for FIX&FOXY Theatre Co, Denmark presented at Re:locations festival & EdinburghFringeFestival 2021)
Bertwin is one of the few choreographers who works extensively across theatre, TV & film. Some highlights are Bollywood song Ang Laga De (from blockbuster movie Ram Leela), Musicals like Disney's Aladdin, Gandhi, Sing India Sing & Devdas, TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance (India), Dance Plus & Dance India Dance, & Movement Coach for an upcoming web series (Thriller) and a Sports based feature film.
