Open Studio: Astrid Boons
16.00 - 17.00 Korzo Zaal
The Flemish Astrid Boons is deliberate and modest, but radical in her work. She sees movement as a natural form for everyone and dance is a way for her to approach life. Through dance, Boons continually discovers new layers in human beings. Transformations form the central focus of her work.
In June, Astrid will work on her research project in Korzo together with two dancers. Ex-NDT dancers Spencer Dickhaus and Spenser Theberge (who is located in the United States). Her research is confined by the measures taken due to Covid-19. Nonetheless, Astrid happily takes us along to show how she manages to do her research despite the restrictions on Saturday 20 June. The open studio will be streamed live through Facebook and Instagram so keep an eye out on those channels in you cannot join us in real life.
